Respect yourself
Another great guy that I have learned a lot from is Robert Kiyosaki. What I’d like to comment on here is something he says namely ‘Pay yourself first’. Here I will give you my take on this. In my world it sounds ‘Respect yourself!’. If your boss is mean – respect yourself. If your world is mean – respect yourself. If you don’t have money – respect yourself. And the universe will learn to respect you.
A huge problem that I encounter daily is that most people don’t respect themselves. When you hear this you might ask ‘How could this be?’ But honestly think about it. Whenever there is a fear-generating situation how do you react? Do you block and shut down all your resources or do you react back throwing everything you have against the ‘danger’. Let me tell you people, there are still other paths you may wish to consider, or in other words there is a smarter way. Good thing is that in our life most stress situations don’t lead to a fatal end.
However if we react in the same way without thinking than we are simply being stupid – good news is – we can change that. This is particularly important to me because, especially in the beginning, I was really scared to death to do something that might prove fatal to my monthly income. I wanted a chance to go forward but the nice cozy, lazy familiar was there saying with the voices of most of my friends, co-workers and managers why bother, if you work hard here we will give you a raise in a year or two, what you have is solid, stable income – so why bother. And, yet, there was a part of me that was like ‘Man think about it. If you don’t challenge your ideas and dreams with reality you will know down deep inside that you are making somebody else rich, you are fulfilling somebody else’s dream, so – Respect Yourself.
Therefore, from among the many possibilities I chose the scary one deciding – it isn’t going to kill me, and even if it is, I will give it a hard time. And what started to happen – and this is the complete truth – is that as if the universe conspired to help me achieve what you want. As a great friend and client of mine says – This is the entrepreneurial spirit; to trust that your ability and stamina will hold against the odds and that eventually your spirit will prevail. I admire that statement, and I live by it.
Whenever I am down, or scared or whatever I respect myself. Because, I know that in the end I am the winner, cause I am the one who dares to discover, to push the limits and the boundaries and who knows what other miracles are out there??? So, it is up to you to decide, now or in the near future, what is your path. What is your intention and what will really make you happy in a way that sets you free to fly high into the sky in the land of dreams come true. As you have already seen, my intention here is not to give you just sales skills and techniques to communicate better your thoughts and ideas, but what I am giving you hear is a philosophy that can transform your reality in a way that even you haven’t been expecting. As Don Juan from Carlos Castaneda says people are black wizards they want to hold you back. Well, that is certainly true when it comes down to when you decide to follow your heart, your intuitions and desires. However, remember there is a smarter way. Use your energy in the best of ways. Use your thought power to dodge the odds, and even better, to make opportunities out of these same odds. Final comments… Be yourself and take a decision, who do you respect: them or yourself? You may love them and you can certainly help them to achieve higher states of consciousness, but in order to be able to do that you must – Respect Yourself First!
i like this post very much. and there is yet one more side to this – if you do not respect yourself you do not take good care of yourself. if you do not take good care of yourself you force your closest family and friends and loving ones to take care of you, and you become a burden for them.i have had many occasions in my life that have proved to me that love for the others starts with loving yourself. it is as simple as that.
