Richard Bandler and John La Valle have a seminar on selling and in there Bandler, the magical genius he is, teaches Attitude and La Valle teaches techniques. And the seminar is evenly split so every trainer has half the floor. And why do you think that is?

Today, I am going to give you my definition on success in sales, and in life and it is simply your Attitude. Your Attitude is either what makes you or it is what breaks you. I know that many bad things happen to us either to make our spirit stronger or because of pure stupidity on the part of some people – I don’t know, and honestly, I don’t care.

In the beginning, I was a normal person reacting in a normal unproductive way. Let me describe it so you stay away from it. I was actually lucky because I had realized how damaging this was to me before I launched myself into sales or I might not have succeeded at all. Depending on the country you live in, there are myriads or a little fewer things that stand in the way to your success – and after reading this you will have realized that this is actually a good thing. So, initially, we are taught good and bad – nice concepts and useful, but sometimes not very practical and pragmatic. We stick to these because our brain has been programmed to do so from an early age. You must understand me correctly – I am a dreamer and I make my dreams come true, because I act with purpose and when I do, I give the whole of myself to the flow – the energy that will get me to my goal – in other words I focus all my magic in the things that I do and that is why people want and enjoy doing business with me. And let me go back to pragmatic. When you hear this you might think of somebody who is seeing money and using people every step of the way and this is the farthest thing from the truth. I am pragmatic in the way I react to bad situations and silly people. My way of reacting is; I look at the situation as a mere spec in the eye of eternity. I know that I am here for a reason and I believe that reason to be to make a difference in the lives of the people that I am fortunate to touch. Therefore, I realize that if I am to improve my situation and in my case to help you get much better at sales, then I must stay focused and on track rather than spilling my precious life force into such trivial and stupid things as this person is an asshole and that situation is so bad and hopeless, I don’t know how I will go on with my life. I realize that I am blowing it out of proportion a bit – but if you stop and think about it, am I?

There are so many people who sometimes in the form of a joke put themselves more and more into life of misery and unhappiness, and as Richard Bandler says ‘You cannot make a good decision when you are in a shitty mood’ – a rough quote. Let me transfer that to the sales arena and let me show you how many people really beat the crap out of themselves. Zig Ziglar asks: What do so many sales people do when they make an unsuccessful sale? They throw a big pity party for themselves! And what is it that they achieve by it? They quickly put themselves into the most ineffective mood there is and then they expect their prospects to get them out of it, maybe?!

So, what is the counter to this horrible ineffective activity and how can you swiftly and easily increase your sales productivity and your happiness in your personal life? It is simple; you must create an unbeatable attitude. An attitude that says I am an amazing, magical and powerful person. I am not perfect, but I constantly improve myself and every day there are myriads of things I can learn, so I get better and better at what I do and my life is full of joy as I have unquenchable curiosity and desire to learn and improve!

I mentioned once already that I am not a millionaire yet, but I am only 27 and I am on the right path. Can you see now why I already know that I am a wonderfully rich person? Because, if you think about it even if you had now a million or a billion bucks, you can only eat so much, buy so many clothes and go to so many nice places, but what is real happiness, and I don’t exclude the above, is the knowledge that there are people out there you can grow with, and there are myriads of things to learn, and this endless curiosity is bound to get you even more than you have asked for. So I finish this piece with this piece of advice: whatever happens you must know one thing – love yourself and the people close to you and whenever life tries to treat you bad, you smile and say I am unbeatable as I already have so much and there is so much more for me to still discover!
